I've noticed that theres a few threads of "How to log in without the website" and that they exist mostly because that info can't be found here. So, here's the sticky!
First, try the standalone launcher (horizonslauncher.exe). If that doesn't work, try this:

There is an IRC channel at irc.stratics.com called "#horizons".
You can get there using an IRC client (I'll leave you to figure that one out) using this connection info:
Server: irc.stratics.com
Port: 6667
Channel: #horizons
No client? Maybe not a problem. Try Stratics' Java IRC client.
No Java? Can't connect to the IRC server? Try the web-based client.Â

Something is wrong with the site. Two plots in Pelli sold over two weeks ago and as of yesterday they still show up as being available. Today the site only indicates it is searching and does not complete query.
I hope someone can fix it soon.

Looks like a good start for the site. Would really like to see the Wiki worked on by all members. One of the biggest items missing from our game is an accurate and current Wiki (or any "real" Wiki as that matters) -

Earlier today, there were some problems at the facility hosting the servers for Istaria. This resulted in an unexpected outage. From the direction of posts at the community forum, the plan was to perform maintenance on the shards early (including applying the delta that was aborted last week) since they were already down.
As of this posting, it looks like the community site is not reachable after having been back up earlier in the day.
It's a known issue, most definitely unplanned and unexpected. Just another Monday!

Looks like the Istaria community forums will be down for a bit on Friday. Nothing to worry about, it's a planned outage.
OMG all subdomains of istaria.com are doooowwwwn ... the dewm D:can't even log with the patcher :x
